Tony Wand
Tony WandPresident, CEO
Tony was named CEO/President in January, 2017, after the retirement of Jim Smiley. He started his Ash Battery career as Chief Operating Officer in April, 2013, and has served on the Ash Battery Board of Directors since 2014. He has over 30 years of cross-functional finance, accounting and operations experience. He earned a B.A. in Accounting from the University of Northern Iowa and passed his CPA exam at that time. Tony also earned his Executive MBA from the University of St Thomas in 1998. Tony and his wife, Deb, have twin daughters Mikaela and MacKenzie who are both pursuing careers in the medical field. Tony is an avid sports fan, enjoys cycling and always has a book nearby.
Tim Foley
Tim FoleyVP, Sales & Marketing
Tim brings over 25 years’ experience in Sales, Marketing, Business Development, and Engineering of engineered electrical products. He has worked within several large manufacturing companies including General Electric, Rockwell Automation, and Danaher Corporation. Customer satisfaction in all our business lines and the growth that results are his primary focus. He has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University and a MBA from Indiana University. Outside of the office he enjoys biking, hiking, and flying airplanes.
Dan Pumarlo
Dan PumarloVP, Operations & Service
Dan is an industry-experienced professional with over 23 years of cross-functional backup power applications and project management experience. A graduate of the Naval Nuclear Power School and the Naval Nuclear Electronics Technician School, he served in the US Navy aboard the USS Los Angeles submarine and is well-schooled in a wide range of telecommunications, utility, and switchgear infrastructure solutions. Outside of Ash Battery, Dan and his wife, Amy, have two sons in high school. He is an active father and citizen, participating in Boy Scouts with his youngest son, as well as donating time and resources to local charities. In his spare time he enjoys the outdoors, biking and golfing.
Mary Nutting
Mary NuttingHead of Talent Management
Mary is the Owner & President of CorTalent, a national recruitment and retention consulting firm and is also contracted as the Head of Talent Management for Ash Battery. Mary has 30+ years of business experience including working with small to mid-size growing companies as well as Fortune 500. She volunteers with several local career support and transition groups and has partnered with the Minnesota Workforce Center to help strengthen their various career programs. She is also the President Elect for NAWBO, and CorTalent is WEBENC certified.
Dan Loftus
Dan LoftusDirector, National Sales
Dan has over 25 years of sales experience, either in the field working with customers, or in various leadership positions. Throughout his sales career the focus has been on technical industrial and channel sales. He earned his MBA from Bethel University in St. Paul, and has a son serving in the Navy and a daughter attending college. He enjoys volunteering in the community, reading, golfing, boating, and hiking.
George Wasielewski
George WasielewskiAC Power Sales Director
George is a seasoned power quality industry veteran with over 20 years’ experience as a regional and national sales manager for several large, international UPS and power distribution manufacturer’s. He has been associated with Ash Battery for over 13 years either as a direct associate or in his sales role with his previous employer. George has a Bachelor’s of Arts degree from the University of Illinois, Chicago, an MBA from Keller School of Management. He also completed four years’ service in the United States Army Reserve, and completed his course of study at the United States Military Academy Preparatory School where he received a nomination and appointment to the United States Military Academy. George and his wife Rachelle have three sons and enjoy cycling, hiking, golf and boating.
John Hanson
John HansonDirector, Generator Business
John brings over 18 years’ experience in the power generation field. He is Master Certified in Generac Power Generation products and service. Throughout his power generation career, he has received certification and endorsements on numerous manufacturer platforms. In his free time he enjoys weightlifting, golfing and football.
Ryan Elofson
Ryan ElofsonController
Ryan has worked in the backup power industry for over 15 years, and has been with Ash Battery since 2004. He has experience in contract management, ERP management, accounting and finance. He graduated with a BS in Finance from the University of Northwestern—St. Paul. In his free time, he enjoys coaching basketball, golfing, attending concerts and being a distraught fan of all the local sports teams.
